About Brooks T. Harrison
Brooks spent his first twenty-four years dedicated to academics and athletics – baseball in particular. From Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Texas to San Jacinto College in Houston, Lee College in Baytown, then Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, and a minor league baseball contract in Ohio; Brooks established himself as a student athlete who was a standout and leader on and off the baseball diamond.
Following Brooks’ athletic career, he began work in the political and public affairs arenas throughout Texas, the Southwest, and nationally. Brooks has worked in political campaigns ranging from the office of the President of the United States all the way to local municipal council races as a consultant and advisor. Along the way, Brooks worked for numerous business and labor organizations where he negotiated over 10 NLRB collective bargaining agreements sanctioned under the Department of Labor and FMCS in excess of $250 million dollars. Brooks has also arbitrated over thirty-five grievances involving Collective Bargaining Agreements while only losing one.
As an attorney, Brooks Harrison has worked for several of the top law firms in the State of Texas and firms renowned throughout the United States as well as partnered or founded two successful personal injury law firms himself. Brooks has earned a reputation for taking on the “difficult” cases and prevailing on behalf of his clients.
Aside from the four year BP explosion litigation, Brooks has represented working families in hundreds of cases involving industrial accidents, wrongful death, commercial vehicles, products liability, toxic exposures, and numerous other personal injuries. Brooks was selected in 2006 & 2007 by H Texas Magazine as a “Houston Professionals on the Fast Track (Law Selection)”. Mr. Harrison has also worked as an Adjunct Professor in the subjects of Personal Injury in Texas and Sports Law.
Brooks has represented, counseled, worked with or advised world renowned celebrities and entertainers, and athletes from Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the National Basketball Association.
Brooks T. Harrison is a proud supporter of public policies advancing the cause of working families. He is a Friend of Labor to the Texas AFL-CIO; a life member of the NAACP; member of LULAC; member of NORML; honored as a “Man of Honor and Distinction” by the Galveston County, Texas – Mainland Chapter NAACP in 2007; member of the American Association for Justice; and a life member of the University of Houston Alumni Association. Brooks lives in Northeast Houston with his two sons, Brooks II and Noah. Brooks routinely is a volunteer baseball and basketball coach for his sons’ athletic teams. In his free time, Brooks enjoys travel, team athletics, boating, live music, politics, and practicing law.
